Job Summary:
The Senior Chemist is responsible for leading and conducting advanced chemical analyses, research, and experiments. This role involves overseeing laboratory operations, developing and validating methods, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Senior Chemist will work on complex projects, mentor junior chemists, and contribute to product development and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and conduct experiments to develop new products, formulations, and processes.
• Analyse and interpret experimental data, and prepare technical reports and documentation.
• Stay updated with the latest scientific and technological advancements in the field.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for the identification, quantification, and analysis of chemical compounds.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing methods to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct quality control tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
• Interpret test results and ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Implement corrective actions for any deviations identified.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and regulatory affairs.
• Mentor and train junior chemists and laboratory technicians.
• Provide guidance and support for professional development and technical skills enhancement.
• Prepare detailed reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory submissions.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of all experiments, analyses, and results.
Qualifications:
• Education: B.Sc. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a chemical laboratory or related industry.
Skills:
• Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, NMR).
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficiency in laboratory software and data analysis tools.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily a laboratory-based role with some office work.
• May require handling of hazardous materials and adherence to strict safety protocols.
• Occasional travel to conferences, seminars, or other company locations may be required.
Salary Range:- 30,000 to 40,000 /month
